The Douglas County Sheriff's Office strives to make reporting a criminal offense as convenient for our citizens as possible. The Citizen Offense Reporting Form is located below along with instructions. You may only use these forms to report ONLY the following types of crimes:

  • Fuel Piracy - If someone stole gasoline by filling and driving off from a gasoline merchant and the value of the gasoline was less than $1000.00. Click here for additional information on completing a Fuel Piracy Report
  • Misdemeanor Theft - If someone intentionally stole an item(s) of yours with the intent to never return it and the value of the item(s) is less than $1000.00
  • Criminal Trespass 2nd Degree - If someone trespassed on your fenced or signed property.
  • Criminal Trespass 3rd Degree - If someone trespassed on your unfenced or unmarked property.
  • Misdemeanor Criminal Mischief - If someone damaged your property valued and the damage is less than $1000.00.
  • Criminal Tampering 2nd Degree - If someone tampered with your property with the intent to cause inconvenience or annoyance but there was no real damage, e.g. "T.P.ing" your home, etc.
  • Missing or Lost Property (not stolen) - Use the Missing or Lost Property Report Form. Click here for additional information on completing the Missing or lost Property Form.

If any of the following is true, DO NOT USE this system. Call for a Sheriff's Deputy to respond to your location within Douglas County (303) 660-7500.

  • You have suspect information
  • There was injury to a person
  • You have identifying suspect vehicle information (license plate number, etc)
  • The incident involved other crimes not listed above
  • There was a witness to the crime
  • County property was involved
  • In cases of theft by force or break-in, or auto theft
  • A traffic accident occurred.

The Crime you are reporting to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office must have occurred in unincorporated Douglas County or the City of Larkspur. If your incident occurred within the boundaries of the Town of Castle Rock, Town of Parker, or City of Lone Tree, you must file your report with that municipal (town/city) agency.
