Community Resources Training Programs

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Community Resource Section provides various training opportunities in a variety of specialized subjects. If you are interested in any of this programs, please contact the Community Resource Section at (303) 660-7544.

The following are a list of programs that are offered to the citizens and businesses in our community. If you have training requests that are not offered please contact us directly so that we can meet your needs.

Robbery / Bank Robbery Prevention

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office partners with the business community and citizens who want to be involved in an active role to help prevent robberies. The goal of this program is to increase robbery prevention awareness and safety for employees and the community. This program is a great supplement to the crime prevention programs already offered through your company or bank. This program is taught at your business or bank and takes about an hour.

Child Safety Program

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is committed to educating children in Safety. This program focuses on who a Stranger is and how to recognize and deal with a stranger. This program is offered to all schools in unincorporated Douglas County as well as Douglas County Community groups. This program is taught at your school or group meeting place or the Sheriff’s Office.

Work Place Violence

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office partners with businesses who want to take an active role in preventing Workplace Violence.  This program is a great supplement or initial training for your business. This program is taught in your place of business and takes about an hour. What to do if you have an active shooter situation in your business, school, church etc:

ID Theft and Fraud Prevention

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office ID Theft prevention program is an awareness presentation. This class helps to prevent you from becoming a victim, and instructions on what to do if you become a victim.  This program can be taught to businesses as well. This program is taught in your place of business or home and takes about an hour.

Community Resource/ Crime Prevention

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Community Resource program is a presentation developed to help bridge the gaps between Law Enforcement and the community. We discuss the different programs we offer and are a resource to the community based on what needs they may encounter. This program is taught in your place of business or home and takes about an hour.

Personal Safety

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Personal Safety Program is a presentation partnering the Sheriff’s Office and citizens who want to be take an active role in their personal safety.  The goal of this program is to increase awareness about safety in your home, apartment, on the street, on public transportation or in the office.

Boy/ Girl Scout Tours and Safety Talks

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is committed to educating children of this community.  This program focuses on tours of the Sheriff’s Office facility. Tours are generally held on the first Wednesday of each month. The tours start at 4:30 PM. All tours must be scheduled with The Community Resources Unit. The tour takes approximately 1 hour.
