Scout Tours

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is happy to support the youth of Douglas County. In an effort to help meet scout merit badge requirements, tours of the Justice Center are offered to local scout troops on the first Wednesday of each month at 4:30pm. Tours take approximately 1 -1.5 hours and will consist of the following depending on availability:

  • Court Room
  • Dispatch Center
  • General Facilities
  • Patrol Car

*Children will not be allowed to tour the Detention facilities. We do not offer fingerprinting on the tours but can provide you with fingerprint cards so your troop can complete the fingerprinting requirement on a later date (you will need to supply your own ink).

Please be aware of the following tour regulations:

  • The Justice Center is a 24/7 working facility. If tours become too disruptive they may be discontinued.
  • No children under the age of 6 will be allowed on the tour.
  • A 1:5 parent to child ratio is required for all tours.
