Interview areas are available for professional visitors. The Detentions Center currently offers two contact interview rooms and three non-contact rooms. Non-contact rooms have glass separating each party using a single handset for communication.
Professional visitation may be conducted any day of the week during the following times:
- 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
- 3:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Professional visitors must sign-in with Lobby personnel and allow for time to enter visitor information, schedule the visit and allow deputies time to locate and prepare the inmate. Proper identification and professional credentials must be presented. While these are ‘contact’ visits, no physical contact between the inmate and visitor is allowed. Cell phones are not allowed in the facility. Interviews may not be scheduled for any other individual’s behalf.
Any work product taken to the facility is subject to search for contraband. This includes computers, briefcases, files and any other electronic media. The Sheriff reserves the right to restrict electronic media in any form into the facility.
Professional visits for interview room #1 across from Central Control may be reserved by calling Lobby Control at 303-814-7045.
The following are parameters for scheduling:
- The professional visitor will call or visit Lobby Control to schedule a visit
- Maximum 2 hour time limit on visits
- Scheduling is on a first come, first served basis
If a visitor is working under the direction of an attorney or conducting some type of evaluation, including private investigators and paralegals, a written request (Letter of Introduction) must be faxed to the Detentions Administration office at 303-688-1065. The Letter of Introduction, addressed to “Whom it May Concern”, must contain the individual’s date of birth, inmate to be visited, the purpose of the requested visit and contact information. Please allow at least three business days for approval. If no response is received from the Sheriff’s Office within this time period, please call 303-660-7559 for further assistance.
