Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in Search of Division of Youth Corrections Escapee

At approximately 2:00 p.m., today, we were notified by the Division of Youth Corrections that an 18 year-old male inmate had escaped custody during transport in the area of C-470 and Quebec St. Upon receipt of the call Deputies immediately responded to the area in search of the inmate.

The inmate, Jacob Beckstead (DOB 02/03/1999), is described as a white male, 5’10”, 140 lbs. He was last seen wearing a red jacket and brown pants.

Beckstead previously lived in the Highlands Ranch area. Deputies have already confirmed that he is not at any of the known associated addresses.

Beckstead was in Division of Youth Corrections custody on charges that he was adjudicated of as a minor, those charges will not be released by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

As of this time, 4:12 p.m., deputies continue to search the area for the inmate. Citizens are encouraged not to make contact with the inmate if seen, dial 9-1-1 immediately.
