County Wide Alerts and Warnings

You will receive all county wide alerts and warnings.  These alerts and warnings will affect the entire county and may be more general in scope and may affect multiple regions of the county.


There are no Alerts and Warnings for Douglas County at this time.


The Douglas County Office of Emergency Management continually monitors all potential emergency situations within Douglas County and will determine, on an as needed basis, the information that will be disseminated through this alert and warnings subscription service.

Subscribers to this Douglas County Emergency Alert will receive notification ONLY when there is a situation that could pose a threat to public health and/or safety or threat to property as determined by the office of Douglas County Office of Emergency Management.

Examples of such situations are those during which the public would alerted to:

1.  Shelter in place;

2.  Evacuate; or

3.  Take action specific to a public health emergency

Weather Disturbances

An alert will not be deployed for routine notification of impending weather nor will this service be used to repeat information disseminated by the National Weather Service or other commercial weather notification web sites and other media sources.

Weather disturbances in Douglas County are typically short-lived events that are difficult to predict. The Office of Emergency Management is continually monitoring the latest forecast and actual weather conditions through multiple sources.

As part of being in a state of readiness, citizens should not rely solely on this Web site for emergency information. It is important for all citizens to be situationaly aware within their local area of all potential emergency situations.

The following are the regional areas within Douglas County that can receive alerts or warnings.  Regions are areas of the county predefined by recognizable boundaries.  Because events may occur in specific areas, regions have been established to inform citizens in their areas of emergency alerts or warnings. Region 1 »

Boundaries: North boundary is County Line Road; East boundary is Broadway; South boundary is the limit of development for Highlands Ranch; West boundary is Chatfield State Park.

Region 2 »

Boundaries: North boundary is County Line Road; East boundary is the creek, called Big Dry Creek, that runs north south through the Links Golf Course, Dry Cheese Ranch and Highlands Heritage Park. South boundary is the Limit of development for Highlands Ranch; West boundary is Broadway.

Region 3 »

Boundaries: North boundary is County Line Road; East boundary is First Street in Grandview Estates and West Parker Road as it follows the Northwest section line; South boundary is the southern boundary of City of Lone Tree; West boundary is the creek, called Big Dry Creek, that runs north south through the Links Golf Course, Dry Cheese Ranch and Highlands Heritage Park.

Boundaries: North boundary is County Line Road; East boundary is the Elbert County Line or Delbert Road; South boundary is Hilltop Road and Singing Hills Road; West boundary is First Street in Grandview Estates

Region 5 »

Boundaries: North boundary is the North County Line; East boundary is the east boundary of Chatfield State Park and the west boundary of the Highlands Ranch Community Association's Open Space Park; South boundary is encompasses residents on both sides of Hwy 67 until the Pike National Forest boundary; West boundary is the Platte River and the southeastern half of Chatfield Reservoir and then follows the Pike National Forest eastern boundary.

Boundaries: North boundary is the south boundary of the City of Lone Tree; East boundary is West Parker Road section line; South boundary is the south boundary of the Town of Castle Rock; West boundary is the west boundary of the Highlands Ranch Community Association's Open Space Park and section lines that extend south of this boundary.

Boundaries: North boundary is Hilltop Road; East boundary is the Elbert County line or Delbert Road; South boundary is the two section lines south of Franktown and encompasses the areas east of Highway 83 for 4 and a half sections.

Boundaries: The Pike National Forest boundaries within Douglas County.

Region 9 »

Boundaries: North boundary is just south of Highway 85; East boundary is Interstate 25; South boundary is the El Paso county line or (South) County Line road; West boundary is the east boundary of the Pike National Forest.

Region 10 »

Boundaries: North boundary is the south edge of Region 7; East boundary is the Elbert County line; South boundary is the El Paso county line also knows as Furrow Road; the West boundary is Interstate 25.
