Join a motorcycle ride and poker run – that raises money to help students in the name of Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputy Ron King.  Supported by Sentinels of Colorado and Fraternal Order of Police. Registration is $25 per bike – Passengers are free. Ride to the Western Trails Steakhouse in Elizabeth, Colorado.

Sponsored by American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Colorado Chapter and Hosted by the DCSO Youth Education and Safety in Schools. “This 3 hour talk is a training that prepares anyone over the age of 15 to identify people who are suicide and connect them to suicide first aid resources.  We will use powerful video to show alert and non-alert responses.  Discussion and practice help stimulate the learning and saving lives.”

Parker Days Parade

See the Douglas County Race-A-Cop car and join in on the rubber-ducky race down Plum Creek! On the day of the race, June 8, we release all the Ducks at the  same time into the water at the starting point on Plum  Creek. Then all these Duckys RACE like crazy for the finish line. Most important of all, over $40,000 net proceeds were raised in 2012 and awarded to local, regional and international Rotary charities.

Empowerment overnight retreat for high school girls.  The retreat teaches girls about self-confidence, self-respect and taking charge of their lives. It’s an adventure into being extraordinary. The retreat is led by Douglas County Sheriff Deputy Ann Walton and Douglas County School District’s Staci McCormack. Douglas County School District girls only in grades 9th through 12th grades.  “I made many fantastic, worthwhile friends. I’ll be keeping in touch with all of them,” one young lady who participated in the February retreat said.
