Currently, this unit is comprised of a sergeant and four detectives. While each detective specializes in a specific type of property crime, detectives often work together on various property crime related cases.
The Unit handles felony level cases such as theft, burglary, criminal trespass, arson, and criminal mischief.
Of the three investigative units, the Crimes Against Property detectives often have the largest case load and often little or no suspect information. Of all the crimes, citizens are more likely to be a victim of a property crime than any other type of crime.
Members of this unit are committed to community education and empowerment to help decrease the incident rate of these crimes.
Detectives often coordinate with our crime analyst to track pattern crimes. This unit has been successful in identifying and prosecuting pattern type offenses.
