Car jacking suspect has been arrested in connection to the incident that occurred on May 1, 2010.
Jack Gingle, 11-13-82, was taken into custody by members of the Douglas County Sheriffs Office Special Investigations Section.
Gingle was arrested at approximately 4:00 pm near 38th and Wadsworth in Wheatridge, and was transported to the Douglas County Jail on charges of 2nd Degree Kidnapping, 2nd Degree Assault, Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft, and Eluding.
On 050110 at around 4:30 pm, a deputy on routine patrol was behind a vehicle, gray Honda, that was traveling southbound I25 at around mm 191. He determined that the vehicle was stolen out of Denver and attempted to stop the vehicle when it exited mm 188, Castle Pines North. The vehicle accelerated and refused to stop for the deputy. The deputy and another patrol car pursued the vehicle back onto I25, Northbound. The vehicle continue north then took the Lincoln exit going east then went south on Peoria St and then got stuck in a ditch. The suspect then exited the stolen vehicle and ran west towards I25. He ran across all lanes of traffic and then stopped a Red Ford Escape on the southbound on ramp from Lincoln to I25 and forced the victim out of the car.
Detectives developed leads the night of the incident and spent the week tracking Gingles down. Gingles was taken into custody without incident.
Gingle is from Denver and is being held on $250,000.00 bond.
