The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting a charity golf tournament to benefit its Christmas For Kids Program as well as local Missing Children Programs.
The Christmas For Kids program has been sponsored by the Sheriff’s Office for close to ten years. County employees and Sheriff’s Office employees can nominate a county family in need, to be sponsored for Christmas presents for the kids. County citizens and local business contribute by donating money for toys or actually buying the toys on the kid’s list. Sheriff’s office deputies then play “Santa” and deliver the toys to the kids before Christmas. It is a very important program to the county and one of the most rewarding. The tournament also benefits local Missing Children Programs, which is an extremely vital resource to have when a missing/abducted child situation occurs.
This inaugural tournament will be held on Friday, September 10, 2010, at Arrowhead Golf Course. The game will be a 4 man modified scramble, with a 1:00 pm shotgun start. This course has been dubbed one of the top five most photographed golf courses in America. Cost per player is $125 and this experience includes: lunch at 11:30 am, dinner after golf, green fees, cart with GPS, range balls, all on course food, all on course non-alcoholic beverages, and a personalized arrowhead bag tag.
The registration form can be found on the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office website, www.dcsheriff.net, the link is on the right-hand column. If you have any questions please contact Sergeant Jeff Bredehoeft at 303-525-6719 or Deputy Brian Duffy at 720-448-5060.
Come on out for a great day of golf, a delicious lunch and dinner, and most importantly support these local programs that only survive due to donations and fundraisers like this.
