Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Crash Investigators were called out to investigate a one-car crash in Highlands Ranch that sent four local teens to area hospitals.
On 11/01/2010, at around 7:41 pm, deputies respond to a report of a serious injury crash at Highlands Ranch Pkwy and Venneford Ranch Road. It was learned that there was only one car involved and it was occupied by four juvenile males. The car had lost control and rolled at least two times. Two of the occupants were ejected. At this time it is not known if all occupants were wearing their seatbelts, it is believed that at least two were not. The occupants, two 17 year olds and two 16 year olds, who all go to area Douglas County high schools, were taken to two local hospitals. Their exact injuries and conditions are unknown at this time.
The westbound lanes of Highlands Ranch Pkwy at Venneford Ranch Road were closed from about 7:45 pm until shortly after midnight on 11/2/2010. Westbound traffic was reduced to one lane and directed through the painted center median for the duration of the investigation.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation and no other information is available at this time.
