Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Crash Investigator has recommended charges against driver of car that ended up in a Petco Store.
On November 5, 2010, at around 1:30 pm deputies and Littleton Fire personnel responded to the Petco store,
1265 Sgt. John Stiles Drive in Highlands Ranch, on a report of a vehicle, a Dodge Durango, which had hit the building. The driver of the vehicle backed out of a parking space and it ended up crashing into the front portion of the store, injuring six people inside the store.
Two separate tests were conducted on the vehicle, one by the Colorado State Patrol and the other by the
Chrysler Corporation. The results indicated that there was no apparent vehicle malfunction during the incident
The driver, Mary Anne McGee, age 54, from California, will be served a summons to appear in court on 6 counts of Careless Driving Resulting in Bodily Injury, which is a Class 1 Misdemeanor Traffic Offense.
