Several members of The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) Explorer Post 10-4 attended the 2011 Regional Competition in July which was held at Western State College, in Gunnison, CO. The Explorer Post brought back the following awards: Dylan Nieto, 4th Place for Crime Scene investigation; Erika Paskey, received two 4th Place awards, one was for High Risk Entry into a building as well as for High Risk Traffic Stop; Jacob Martin received two 2nd Place awards, one was for Interview and Interrogation; as well as for Hold up Alarm. Sheriff David A. Weaver is extremely proud of these individuals for their commitment to the program and their successes at the competition.

The Explorer Post meets Tuesday nights at 6pm and they train with members of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. Explorers attend many community events, earning hours for community service. They also attend many events throughout the year with other Explorer Posts and compete in the Regional Competition annually.
