NARRATIVE: March 30th, 2012 will mark the sixth St. Baldrick’s event sponsored by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. Through the personnel within the Sheriff’s Office, friends, family, and the community at large, we have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to help research new cures for childhood cancer. The 2012 event has already raised approximately $24,000.00.
On Friday, March 30th, 2010 at 3:00 pm, Police Officer’s from Douglas County, Castle Rock, Parker, Lone Tree, Douglas County School District as well as citizens from all over the state, will be shaving their heads in solidarity for Childhood Cancer research. Jake Schroeder, frontman for “Opie Gone Bad,” notoriety will start the event off with our National Anthem. A silent auction featuring sport memorabilia and hand crafted items will be on hand.
This year, Preston Klinger, a resident of Kiowa, Colorado will be shaving for his 7th consecutive year and will be “Knighted” as a Knight of the Bald Table. This is a celebration for his 7th year as a shavee and his continued support for research into Childhood Cancer.

The event will be held in the Douglas County Event Center, located at 500 Fairgrounds Dr., Castle Rock, CO 80104. It is located one mile east of Interstate 25, exit 181, off of Plum Creek Parkway.
