We are looking for young men and women that are 14-18 years of age that would like to give back to their community and learn more about law enforcement.
If you can maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher, give 8 hours of community service a month, attend meetings, go thru a basic explorer academy in the spring and work special events throughout the year, then we want you. In return you will get lessons on officer tactics, officer safety, firearms, arrest control, verbal judo, pedestrian contacts, traffic contacts and several other topics within law enforcement.
If being an Explorer is something that you or someone you know is interested in, then please join us at our annual Open House, Tuesday August 21th, 6pm at the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, located at 4000 Justice Way, Castle Rock, CO.
The Explorer Post meets Tuesday nights at 6pm and they train with members of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. Explorers attend many community events, earning hours for community service. They also attend many events throughout the year with other Explorer Posts and compete in the Regional Competition annually. If you are interested in a career in law enforcement, Explorers are for you!
