NARRATIVE: DOUGLAS COUNTY, CO – The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is asking people to be aware that a black sedan with a suspicious-acting driver approached a child in the area of Highlands Ranch by Poston Parkway and Griggs.
On Tuesday (October 1), around 6 p.m., a black sedan with a suspicious-acting driver approached a child in the neighborhood near the school.
The child was on a scooter in the area of Poston Parkway and Griggs when an unknown white male subject in a black sedan allegedly tried to lure a child into a vehicle and then threatened the child. The child refused and ran away and was not harmed.
The male was described to as a white, younger male, athletic build with short brown hair. He was wearing a gray hoodie with unknown color stripes running horizontally.
No license plate was obtained and the vehicle is described to be a black sedan with a large scratch on the driver’s side hood, tinted windows with a “black antenna ball”.
Out of an abundance of caution and concern for public safety we would like people to be alert and report any suspicious activity.
Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is working with Douglas County School District and has increased patrols in the area.
