Explorer Post #10-4
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Youth Explorer Post # 10-4 is an all-volunteer youth auxiliary sub-organization of the Boy Scouts of America. This effective program allows young people, age 14 to 20, who are interested in exploring law enforcement as a career, to interact and train with sheriff’s deputies. The Post also performs numerous service and volunteer functions throughout the community.
As a part of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post 10-4, you have the opportunity to participate in regional conferences, and tactical competitions yearly. With the opportunity to attend these competitions and the many other county events, you have the chance to meet other explorers and law enforcement officials from around the country.
Weekly meetings are held every Tuesday night at 6pm at the Sheriff’s Office.
Training sessions include all the different jobs that deputies perform on a daily basis at the Sheriff's Office to include, Patrol, Detentions, Investigations and Administrative functions of law enforcement. This program allows young adults to gain the experience of law enforcement and to be the part of a larger family. As a part of this post you must be at least 14 years old and maintain a G.P.A. of at least 2.00.
