Deputy Paul Montville began his law enforcement career with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in 2001. Paul was selected for the K-9 Unit in April 2005. In addition to his duties as a K-9 handler, Paul is also a firearms instructor. Prior to joining the Sheriff’s Office, Paul received his Bachelor’s of Science degree form the University of Wyoming and a Juris Doctor degree from the Creighton University School of Law.

In May 2005, Paul was paired up with is new partner, K-9 Leon. Leon, a three-year-old Belgian Malinois, was born in Belgium and brought to the Vohne Liche Kennels in Indiana where he was purchased by the Sheriff’s Office in April 2005. The purchase was made possible by a very generous donation from well-known actress and Douglas County Resident, Pam Greer. Leon is certified in patrol and narcotics detection.
