Bureau_Chief_Tim_Moore

Bureau Chief Tim Moore began his law enforcement career with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in 1990.  Promoted to Bureau Chief in 2010, he now serves as our executive officer over the Patrol and Investigation Divisions.

Tim began his service as a detention deputy, and then transferred as a patrol deputy in 1992.  He was promoted in 1996 where he served as supervisor for the first team of deputies dedicated to patrol the newly-formed City of Lone Tree.  In 1997, he was promoted to sergeant and from 1999 to 2004, Tim served as our public information officer where specialized in media relations.  Tim was promoted to lieutenant in 2003, and in December 2004, was promoted to captain, where he commanded the Detention Division until 2006, and then the Patrol Division until August 2010. 

Tim recently completed four years of service as commander of our regional S.W.A.T. Team and served six years as a Board member for the Women’s Crisis & Family Outreach Center.  He is a 2005 graduate of the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command, 202nd class, and a 2011 graduate of the FBI National Academy, session 244.

Tim is very active in the community and routinely speaks at community events about crime trends, crime prevention and reduction, public safety, and sheriff’s office operations.
