
Captain Ron Harvey joined the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in 1987 as a Patrol Deputy. He has held positions as a traffic and DUI officer, as well as Civil Division Supervisor, Investigator and Patrol and Investigations Sergeant. When he was promoted to Lieutenant he served as a Watch Commander in both the Jail and in Patrol. He was most recently assigned as a Lieutenant in Investigations. He has held special assignments as the Director of the Colorado Regional Computer Forensic Laboratory (Task Force) and later, the Assistant Director of the Rocky Mountain Regional Computer Forensic Laboratory representing Colorado and Wyoming as part of an FBI task force; which conducts computer forensic examinations of digital evidence in support of criminal prosecutions. He is currently one of approximately 250 FBI certified computer forensic examiners in the country and a student of leadership principals and management philosophy. Other areas of accomplishment include Master FTO, training committee for the Children’s Advocacy Center, P.O.S.T. Certified Instructor, and ASCLD – Lab qualified inspector. He is a Colorado Native and Douglas County resident and is married with one child.
