Captain Tim Moore began his law enforcement career with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in 1990. Promoted to captain in December 2004, he now manages the Patrol Division.
Tim began his service as a detention deputy, and then transferred to patrol deputy in 1992. He was promoted in 1996 where he served as line supervisor for the very first team of deputies dedicated to patrol the newly formed City of Lone Tree. In 1997, he was promoted to Sergeant where he supervised personnel in the detention division and served as leader of our civil disturbance team. In 1999, he was appointed to serve as public information officer and supervisor for community relations/crime prevention, and school resource deputy program. Promoted to Lieutenant in January 2003, he continued to serve as our public information officer and he also served as the sheriff’s office special projects coordinator.
Captain Moore is a 2005 graduate of the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command, 202nd class. He has served as leader for our S.W.A.T. crisis negotiator team and instructs other law enforcement personnel on the disciplines of law enforcement ethics and crisis negotiation skills.
Tim routinely speaks at various community events on such topics as crime prevention, public safety, and sheriff’s office operations.
