Community Safety Volunteers (CSVs) are required to attend a nine-week academy. Classes meet on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 – 10 p.m. at the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in Castle Rock and on four additional 8-hour Saturdays. Each volunteer must also complete a 30-hour field training program upon graduation and volunteer at least 16 hours each month.
CSVs will learn how the Sheriff’s Office functions and participate in classes on ethics, first aid, CPR, defensive driving, traffic control and more.
The CSV Academy generally begins in March of each calendar year. Applications for the 2020 CSV Academy are due Dec. 10, 2019. If you’d like to know more and register for the next academy please email email@example.com.
