The mission of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Training Unit is to provide our Office members the most current and effective training to ensure not only your safety, but theirs as well.  Secondly, we want to provide the citizens of Douglas County with highly trained professionals Firing Range with Deputy Keaneyto serve them in the manner that has become the hallmark of the law enforcement community in Colorado.  By providing top quality and innovative training, using the latest technology and the most qualified instructors, we strive to enhance the overall professionalism and function of Office members. 

Due to the knowledge and skills required to provide these quality law enforcement services, the training function takes a significant amount of time and effort.  The Training Unit is tasked with managing the extensive training that an Office member receives each year, assuring that each member receives all training mandated by department, state and federal guidelines. 

Arrest Control Techniques

Active Shooter TrainingDeputies attend a minimum of 40 hours of in-service training consisting of firearms, arrest control, driving, emergency medical treatment and hazardous materials.  Additionally, division training specific to fulfilling requirements of the assignment is provided.
