Sheriff David A. Weaver says
Yes to Youth, Yes to Education, and Yes to Safety in Schools.
This has lead to the beginning of our new, multi-faceted youth initiative
Y.E.S.S.
Sheriff Weaver recognizes that the youth of Douglas County deserve service and attention from the Sheriff’s Office. In order to reach our youth and their families in a positive way the Sheriff has created a new youth initiative we have named Youth, Education & Safety in Schools or Y.E.S.S. The program has a coordinator, and 2 deputies. The program consists of a strong partnership with the Douglas County School District to include: deputies teaching in the middle school health classes, teaching in elementary schools when time allows, our high school Text-A-Tip program, Suicide Intervention/Prevention, and participation in several Douglas County Youth Initiative coalitions just to name a few.
We hope to provide you with a multitude of valuable resources. If you don't find what you are looking for, if a link is broken, or if you know of a resource we should add please do not hesitate to contact our coordinator Phyllis Harvey at 303-814-7033 or pharvey@dcsheriff.net

Texting and Driving is illegal in Colorado - more importantly it can hurt or even kill someone. Please watch this video and think about the following:
- Make a commitment to yourself and family to NOT text and drive at all.
- Put your phone in a place you can't reach it so you won't be tempted.
- Better yet, turn off your phone when you are driving so that there is no chance of being distracted.
- Do NOT text someone who you know is driving so they won't be tempted to read a text while driving.
