Douglas County Man Arrested on Suspicion of Second-Degree Murder

NARRATIVE: DOUGLAS COUNTY, CO – A 27-year-old man is in custody after deputies discovered the body of an adult female inside a house in the Sterling Ranch subdivision in unincorporated Douglas County.

On January 23, 2023, at around 2:41 p.m., deputies responded to the 9200 block of Merino Circle on the report of a possible death.  When deputies arrived, they contacted a white male outside the residence. Upon entering the home, they discovered a white female who was deceased.

The white male, identified as Dustin Neumann DOB 01-24-1996, was taken into custody and transported to the Douglas County Detention Facility, where he was booked in on the charge of:

18-3-103(3)(a)   Murder in the Second Degree     F2

He is currently being held on a $500,000 bond.

The Douglas County Coroner’s Office will determine the identification of the victim as well as make proper family notification.

While this is still an open investigation, detectives believe the suspect and victim were known to each other.
