NARRATIVE: DOUGLAS COUNTY, CO – Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputy K9 Colt will receive a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.  K9 Colt’s vest is sponsored by Leah Beale of Oklahoma City, OK and will be embroidered with the sentiment “In memory of K9 Kye, Oklahoma City Police Dept.”  Delivery is expected within eight to ten weeks.

K-9 Colt and his handler are very grateful for the Vested Interest in K9 organization and this donor for donating and providing K-9 Colt with this vital equipment to keep K-9 Colt safe while on patrol. Vested Interest has helped the Douglas County K-9 unit tremendously by providing four vests through donations for our K-9 unit.  This is another example of their commitment to the K-9 safety in Douglas County Sheriff’s Office as well as other law enforcement agencies across the nation.  We are truly grateful for this donation.
