The Douglas County Cold Case Unit investigates cold cases. Cold cases are investigations that remain unsolved where known leads appear to have been exhausted. With advances in DNA technology and genealogy, we can go beyond customary investigative techniques to solve various types of cold cases. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is committed to pursuing justice for the victims and their families.

Camilo Moreno-Miramontes - On November 26, 1999, 35 year old Camilo Moreno-Miramontes was found dead in Wheatland, Wy. He is believed to be associated with the Mexican Mafia and drugs. It is believed he was killed in Boulder or Adams County.

Nanci Terese Nelson - In 1999, 31 year old Nanci Nelson's parents reported her missing because they had not heard from her and were concerned for her safety. She was last known to live in Oregon.

Rodrigo Zubiz-Rodriguez - On March 24, 1998, 33 year old Rodrigo Zubia-Rodriguez was found in the southbound lane of I-25. He had been hit by a car.

Bryan Keith Sanchez - On November 6, 1994, 37 year old Bryan Sanchez was found on an embankment of Plum Creek. He died from gunshot wounds.

Jane Doe - The partially clad body of a young girl was discovered in the Pike San Isabel National Forest, between Woodland Park and Deckers off Highway 67, in a makeshift campsite by a hiker at the Rainbow Falls Campground. The victim's body was found within days of a nearby convention of the Vietnam Vets Motorcycle Club that met June 12-13, at the Horse Creek campground south of Deckers. Investigators said they have not been able to determine if the victim had any association to that group. Investigators believe the victim may have been dumped in the spot where her body was found. she was found half nude. wearing only a black short sleeve Harley Davidson t-shirt and some unique jewelry.

Rhonda Fisher - On April 1, 1987, 31 year old Rhonda Fisher was found in Larkspur near the 3500 block of S. Perry Park Road.

Robert James Bowling - Four month old Robert and his sister Ashley were last seen on August 11, 1985 in Parker, CO with their mother and her boyfriend. Ashley has since been located when the family resurfaced in Louisiana, without Robert. Robert is still missing.

Roger Dean - On November 1, 1985, 51 year old Roger Dean and his wife were in their home when an intruder held Roger at gunpoint. Roger was ultimately fatally shot.

Linda Lou Struble - On March 13, 1983, 36 year old Linda Lou Struble "TITS", was found dead in a guard shack of the Castlewood Canyon State Park. It is possible she could have been murdered up to ten days prior. She died from a gunshot wound.

Maurice Gordon Dametz - On April 29, 1981, 75 year old Maurice "Doc" Dametz was last seen rock hunting near Rampart Range Road in Douglas County. Maurice was believed to be wearing a white baseball cap and blue overalls. He has not been seen since.

Helene Pruszynski - On January 16, 1980, 21 year old Helene Pruszynski was found stabbed to death in a field on Daniels Park Road. It is believed she was abducted near Union Avenue in Englewood, walking from the bus stop, returning home from her internship.

Roy and Patricia Bowden - On June 7th, 1977, 41 year old Patricia Bowden and her husband, Roy Bowden were found dead in their home in Sedalia. There was no sign of forced entry into their house, so it is assumed that they were familiar with their killer.
