Chief Walcher is the supervisor over Professional Standards. He has been in law enforcement for over 38 years, starting his career in law enforcement as a civilian with the FBI. After working for the FBI, he worked for Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office for over 21 years before retiring and beginning a career with the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office. Walcher was elected Arapahoe County’s Sheriff in 2014 and served as the county’s Sheriff for 5 years.
Chief Walcher has a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Metropolitan State College of Denver and a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Colorado Denver. He comes to us with much experience and community involvement which will serve him well in his new position.
