U.S. FOREST SERVICE TO BEGIN BURNING NEAR WOODLAND PARK

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., October 20, 2014…The U.S. Forest Service, Pike National Forest-Pikes Peak Ranger District is planning a prescribed burn in Teller and Douglas Counties.

Weather and wind conditions may affect the dates for ignition and fire personnel will determine if safe and effective ignition should take place.

The project involves broadcast burning to enhance forest health and reduce hazardous fuels near U.S. Forest Service and private land boundaries. Smoke will be visible during burning operations.
