Inmates are allowed non-contact video visits only. The number of visits per week, as well as the duration of visits, is based upon the inmate’s housing unit and classification. Video visits can be done from any computer with a high-speed Internet connection, or from kiosks located in the Detention Facility lobby located at the Robert A. Christensen Justice Center, 4000 Justice Way, Castle Rock, CO 80109. Please see below for more information.
Video visitation is at Robert A. Christensen Justice Center, located at 4000 Justice Way, Castle Rock, CO, 80109.
On February 27, 2014, the VizVox video visitation system used at the Douglas County Detention Facility was replaced. The new visitation system, provided by Telmate, allows video visitation from kiosks at the Douglas County Detention Facility (similar to the VizVox system), and will also allow fee-based remote video visitation from any Internet-connected computer. This new capability allows inmates’ friends and family to visit from their home, workplace, or anywhere they have a high-speed Internet connection. Video visitation will no longer be offered at the Highlands Ranch substation.
To schedule a visit, you must create an account at the Telmate Kiosk at the Detention Facility, or online at www.gettingout.com. Remote visitation is a web-based service, so you must have access to a laptop or PC with a camera, microphone, and speakers. The system does not support tablets or Smartphones at this time. Visitors without a laptop computer or PC can schedule a local visit and use a kiosk located in the Detention Center lobby.

- Inmates receive two free local (kiosk) visits per week. The week begins on the day of the week the inmate was booked into the facility, or every Thursday for inmates who were booked into the facility prior to February 27, 2014.
- Visits start promptly at the scheduled time. If you arrive late, you will only receive the remainder of the scheduled visit.
- For remote visitation, your laptop or PC must have:
- A webcam, microphone, and speakers.
- Internet Explorer 7, 8, or 9, or Safari 4 or 5.
- The current version of Adobe Flash. (http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer)
- High speed Internet connection. Dial-up and satellite are not supported.
Test your Internet speed at www.speedtest.net
Test your camera and microphone at www.testwebcam.com
- Additional local visits (beyond the 2 free visits/week): $7.50 for 30 minutes
- Remote visits: $9.99 for 30 minutes
Free visits can only be scheduled by the inmate. If you schedule a visit, the system will show that it is a paid visit. Continue scheduling the visit and choose “Request or suggest visit time,” not “Book.” The system will use the inmate’s free visit if he/she approves the visit and has a free visit available.
You must log into your www.gettingout.com account to verify if an inmate has approved a visit, to approve a visit request from an inmate, to send or receive messages and photos, or to schedule a visit.
If you have additional questions, please call 866.516.0115 and a Telmate Customer Service Representative will assist you.

For security purposes, staff will not release any scheduled visit or visitor information.
