The Grand Opening of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office new 35,000 square foot substation was held on Tuesday February 15, 2011. The $9.5 million facility, will prove to be a money saver to the county as many Douglas County patrol deputies will be able to brief out of this substation and be closer to their districts in Highlands Ranch. This will in turn allow for faster response times than those deputies who have historically started their shift in Castle Rock.
The Highlands Ranch Substation contains: temporary holding cells, an evidence storage facility, arrest records and reports, fingerprinting services, and access to video conference services with inmates in the Douglas County jail. Many of our Detectives will be based out of this facility as well.
The Highlands Ranch Substation also has a meeting room which is used to for community meetings and to provide classes to the public.
