Tow_Truck_iStock_000003994247_SmallVehicles such as cars, trucks and motorcycles that are impounded by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office will only be released to the registered owner or authorized agent of the owner during normal business hours, Monday through Friday (except legal holidays) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Impounds with a police hold

Vehicles impounded with a police hold are taken to a secure storage facility operated by the Sheriff’s office. Contact the detective handling your case to determine when your vehicle will be available for release, and the procedures for securing its release.

Impounds without a police hold

Vehicles impounded without a police hold are released directly by our contract towing service, Westside Towing, located at 1040 Atchison Court, Castle Rock, Colorado 80109. Contact Westside Towing directly to arrange release of the vehicle at 303-688-5244.

Documents establishing ownership, identity, and vehicle registration must be provided to Westside Towing, and full payment of all towing, impound, and storage fees must be made directly to Westside Towing in accordance with their policies.
